Why do musicians all over the world use so much Italian on printed sheet music? The motion is more rhythmic and heavily dotted (sharp long-short figures). A register hole or vent is designed to destructively interfere with the fundamental resonance of the air column and thus force oscillations at the next strongest resonance. Embouchure measures 9.9 X 11.5, is quite original, almost round. BWW is different from other libraries where at most 2 flutes or 2 oboes might have been recorded, but not multiple players to create a complete symphonic section.

Some historians believe that sometime in the1650s, Hotteterre conceived the bassoon in four sections (bell, bass joint, boot and wing joint), an arrangement that allowed greater accuracy in machining the bore compared to the one-piece dulcian. My favorite mute (mainly for that dang low B natural with the double basses at the end of the 1st movement of Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony) is simply a black sock placed securely in the bell (preferably Gold Toe!!) - LOL - it really helps mute and lower the pitch to match the basses - haven't had the nerve to try it on the various "bass clarinet" measures in the 4th/6th Symphonies.

Pull the head 4mm and it works well at A=442 or a shade lower. Hmm, it looks like we don't know anything about this artist! We wouldn't expect the person playing this bassoon to require notes much above printed middle C or D, and this bassoon...

We tried several, came to the conclusion that a modern Selmer mouthpiece works best, gives the best intonation. In 1981, the Tolchin Group companies were purchased by the Boosey & Hawkes Group. Increasing use of the bassoon as a basso continuo instrument meant that it began to be included in opera orchestras, first in France and later in Italy, Germany and England. I suppose you would want the cheapest wood they have for your first few instruments; when you get better, you would want a higher grade of wood. – user1044 Jul 30 '13 at 3:04 While maple is the standard wood used for bassoons, in Europe mostly Bosnian mountain maple is used. With great force, the winds begin the variation, back in 3/4 and back in the minor key. There are also some mini harps, cellos and violins that play as music boxes.
